Usama Mir, born on December 23, 1995, is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for Pakistan in both ODI and T20 formats. He debuted for the national team in 2023. Usama quickly gained attention for his performances, including his role as a concussion substitute during the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
2023
- January 9, 2023: Usama Mir played his first ODI match for Pakistan against New Zealand in Karachi. He took two wickets in that game, including one of Kane Williamson.
- October 2023: He played in his first World Cup match against Australia, taking 1 wicket for 82 runs. In his second match against Afghanistan, he did not take any wickets. Usama became the first concussion substitute in World Cup history when he replaced Shadab Khan in a match against South Africa. He took 2 wickets for 45 runs in that match.

Domestic career
Usama Mir started his domestic career with Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in 2013 and played for them until 2015. He was known for his ability to take wickets and led the team in the 2015 Haier Super 8 T20 Cup. He debuted in first-class cricket in November 2014 against PIA and played his last match in November 2024 against Sialkot R in Abbottabad.
Mir’s List A debut was in January 2015 against National Bnk. His final match in this format was in September 2024 against Panthers at Faisalabad. In T20s, he debuted in July 2013 against Port Qasim A, with his last match in March 2025 against Lahore B.
Mir played for Karachi Kings in the 2017 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and helped Pakistan’s emerging team finish as runners-up in the 2017 ACC Emerging Team Cup. In 2018, he played for Punjab in the Pakistan Cup and took the most wickets for the team. He was also drafted by Toronto Nationals for the 2018 Global T20 Canada tournament. In the 2024 PSL, Mir took 24 wickets for Multan Sultans.
